5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
We use the following third-party services that may collect information:
5.1 Google Analytics
- Provider: Google LLC
- Purpose: Website analytics and user behavior analysis
- Data Collected: Usage statistics, demographics, interests
- Privacy Policy: Google Privacy Policy
5.2 Data Processing
These third-party services may process your data outside of India. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information.
5.3 ChatGPT and Other AI Assistant Integrations
Finmagine offers an optional integration that lets you connect your Finmagine account to third-party AI assistants (such as ChatGPT) so they can retrieve stock research data and run analysis tools on your behalf, inside your own conversation with that assistant.
- How it works: You initiate the connection from within the AI assistant. You are redirected to Finmagine to log in (using your existing Finmagine credentials) and approve exactly which categories of access to grant — you see this list before approving, and can approve some categories while declining others.
- What is shared: Only the specific data you request through your conversation with the assistant (e.g. a company's financial ratios, market data, or a research report you ask for) is returned to that assistant. We do not share your login credentials, payment information, or saved AI provider keys with any connected assistant.
- What is never shared: Your saved third-party AI provider keys (e.g. for Groq, DeepSeek, OpenAI, Anthropic) are never transmitted to or requested by a connected assistant. Any feature that needs one directs you back to your Finmagine account to manage it directly.
- Your control: You can view every AI assistant currently connected to your account, see exactly what access each one has, and disconnect any of them at any time from your Connected Apps settings page. Disconnecting immediately revokes that assistant's access.
- Retention: Access grants remain active only until you disconnect them or they expire; we do not retain a log of the specific questions you ask a connected assistant beyond standard request logging used for security and abuse prevention.
5.4 Finmagine for Excel (Microsoft Excel Add-in)
Finmagine for Excel is an add-in for Microsoft Excel that adds =FINMAGINE.* formulas and a task pane so you can bring Finmagine market data into your workbook. This section explains how the add-in handles your information.
- Signing in: You sign in through a pop-up window that opens a Finmagine page (finmagine.com/oauth/authorize.php), where you log in with your existing Finmagine credentials and approve access. Finmagine for Excel never sees your password. Alternatively, you can paste a Finmagine API key into the task pane.
- What is sent to Finmagine: Only what a formula or button needs: the company symbols, metric names, and screening criteria you type into formulas, plus your access token or API key so we can identify your account and plan. The add-in also sends its name and version. We keep standard request logs (such as time and IP address) for security, abuse prevention, and enforcing plan request limits.
- What is not read or sent: Finmagine for Excel does not read, upload, or store the contents of your workbook, your other cells, or your files.
- What is stored on your device and in your workbook: Your access and refresh tokens (or API key) are stored in your browser or Excel's local storage for the add-in's own site, excel.finmagine.com, which is separate from the main Finmagine website. Recently returned results are kept in memory for a short time (minutes for prices, up to 24 hours for fundamentals) to reduce repeat requests, and are cleared when you disconnect. If you choose a default market, that preference is saved inside your workbook file.
- What the add-in writes to your workbook: Only when you click Create Sample Sheets, which adds new tabs and never overwrites your existing sheets. The formulas you enter write their results into the cells you chose.
- Your control: Click Disconnect in the task pane to remove the stored tokens or key from your device at once. You can also see and revoke the connection at any time from your Connected Apps settings page, which immediately ends the add-in's access to your account.
- No sale or advertising use: As described elsewhere in this policy, we do not sell your information or use it for third-party marketing. Microsoft provides Excel itself, and Microsoft's own privacy statement governs your use of Excel.
Microsoft Excel is a trademark of Microsoft Corporation. Finmagine for Excel is provided by Finmagine and is not an official Microsoft product.
