📊 MIXED Constellium Q1 2026 record Adj. EBITDA $359M; raises 2026 outlook
Revenue & Profitability
Revenue was $2.5 billion in Q1 2026, up 24% from Q1 2025. Net income was $196 million versus $38 million in the prior year. Adjusted EBITDA (including metal price lag) was $359 million, up 93%; excluding the lag, it was $262 million (a record). Free cash flow was $5 million in the quarter. The company raised full-year 2026 guidance to Adjusted EBITDA (ex-lag) of $900–$940 million and free cash flow in excess of $275 million.
Outlook
Management sees strong secular demand in aerospace (record backlogs, build rate increases) and healthy packaging demand in both North America and Europe. Automotive demand is mixed: stable in North America but weak in Europe, especially the premium segment. Industrial markets in Europe have stabilized at low levels, while TID in North America benefits from onshoring and tariffs. Overall, the company expects favorable conditions to continue in 2026.
Growth Drivers
Key growth drivers include aerospace demand (commercial, space, military), TID onshoring in the U.S., and the current supply shortage of automotive raw products in North America from a competitor's fire (benefiting P&ARP and A&T). Packaging markets are expected to grow low-to-mid single digits long-term. The company also sees opportunities in land-based defense and semiconductor markets.
Balance Sheet & CapEx
Full-year 2026 CapEx guidance is approximately $330 million (up from $315 million), including about $100 million of return-seeking CapEx. Key projects include a third Airware cast house in Issoire (startup by end of 2026), and recycling and casting investments at Muscle Shoals and Ravenswood. These investments support aerospace capacity and recycling capabilities.
Margins
Adjusted EBITDA margins improved significantly year-over-year, driven by favorable scrap spreads, higher pricing, and cost tailwinds (especially in P&ARP). Management highlighted strong cost control and productivity improvements. The 2028 EBITDA target implies further margin expansion. Guidance for 2026 assumes continued favorable metal and scrap dynamics in North America.
Key Risks
Risks flagged include the conflict in the Middle East (potential metal supply disruption, energy costs, inflation in freight/lubricants/coatings), tariff uncertainties (Section 232 auto tariffs impacting European auto), and volatility in scrap spreads. Automotive demand in Europe remains weak, particularly in the premium segment. The longer-term impact of the Middle East conflict is uncertain but currently considered manageable.

Financial Model
Projections are built from each company's audited annual financials (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) over the last 5 fiscal years. Forward assumptions — revenue growth %, EBITDA margin, D&A (USD millions), interest expense, tax rate, and capex — are AI-generated using historical context and refreshed twice a year: after the December results season and after the September/Q4 results season.

CAGR Tracker
Expected 5-year CAGR = (DCF Fair Value / Current Price)1/5 − 1. Assumes fair value is reached in exactly 5 years — a mechanical estimate only.
