📊 MIXED Pentair Q1 2026: 3% sales growth, EPS $1.22, Dividend King status
Revenue & Profitability
Q1 2026 total sales up 3% to over $1 billion. Adjusted operating income of $259 million, up 7%. Adjusted EPS of $1.22, up 10%. Return on sales expanded 100 basis points to 25.0%. Full-year 2026 adjusted EPS guidance narrowed to $5.30-$5.40 (midpoint $5.35), representing ~9% year-over-year growth at midpoint.
Outlook
Management sees a range of demand drivers including aging U.S. infrastructure, Sun Belt population growth, premiumization in food service, and aftermarket growth. However, residential markets face headwinds from high interest rates and consumer cost-of-living pressures. Pool sell-through is expected to be flattish on volume, with channel destocking in Q2-Q3. Non-residential investment is mixed.
Growth Drivers
Key growth levers include commercial water (K-12, hospitals, universities, data centers), Quad One account expansion, targeted pro channel growth (mid-teens in Water Solutions), and new product innovation in Pool automation and purification. Flow benefits from Hydra-Stop acquisition and aftermarket sales. Regional focus in North America outperforming Europe/Asia.
Balance Sheet & CapEx
Not discussed in this earnings call.
Margins
Q1 return on sales expanded 100 bps to 25.0%, with all three segments expanding margin (Flow +210 bps, Water Solutions +160 bps, Pool +30 bps). Full-year ROS expected to expand ~100 bps to ~26%. Productivity savings of $70 million net of investment are expected. Price is expected to offset inflation and tariffs.
Key Risks
Management flagged macro volatility, tariffs (incremental but net neutral expected), commodity inflation, and Middle East supply chain impacts. Pool channel destocking in Q2-Q3 from prior buy-ahead is a near-term risk. Lower outlooks in Europe and Asia due to supply chain challenges. Interest rates and consumer discretionary pressure remain headwinds.

Financial Model
Projections are built from each company's audited annual financials (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) over the last 5 fiscal years. Forward assumptions — revenue growth %, EBITDA margin, D&A (USD millions), interest expense, tax rate, and capex — are AI-generated using historical context and refreshed twice a year: after the December results season and after the September/Q4 results season.

DCF Valuation
Fair Value = Σ(FCFt / (1+WACC)t) + Terminal Value. Terminal Value uses the Gordon Growth Model: FCF5 × (1+g) / (WACC−g). Default WACC: 10% (US risk-free ~4.5%, equity risk premium ~5.5%). Default terminal growth: 3% (long-run US nominal GDP proxy).
