📊 MIXED Post Holdings delivers strong Q2 Adjusted EBITDA, reduces share count 15% YTD.
Revenue & Profitability
Explicit revenue and net income figures were not disclosed in this call. Management noted strong Q2 performance with Adjusted EBITDA above expectations. Fiscal year-to-date share repurchases have reduced share count by 15%. The company generated strong cash flow and maintained liquidity.
Outlook
Management sees cereal category improving (down 3% pounds in Q2, improving to -2.5% in April). Pet category slower than anticipated, especially dry dog food (pounds down 4%). Foodservice supply and demand remain balanced. New headwinds from Middle East conflict causing fuel cost increases; company assumes impact extends to fiscal year end. Consumer pushback on pricing noted; low single-digit inflation likely absorbed, higher inflation may lead to targeted pricing.
Growth Drivers
Key growth drivers include pet business restage of Nutrish brand (relaunch with new positioning, packaging, price points; expects Q4 to show flat or slight growth). Private label growth in refrigerated retail (new products rolled out). Weetabix yellow box product outperforming. 8th Avenue acquisition integration on track with synergies ahead of plan. In cereal, Post held flat dollar market share year-over-year.
Balance Sheet & CapEx
Not discussed in this earnings call.
Margins
Foodservice profitability run rate around $125 million per quarter, expected to return to that level. Weetabix margins below historical 30% due to growing UFit co-managed business (lower margin but grows profit dollars); sequential EBITDA margin improvement expected in Q3 and Q4 from network optimization. Post Consumer Brands held market share with lower promotional spend. Pet margins managed through pricing and pack architecture.
Key Risks
Risks flagged include Middle East conflict causing higher fuel and diesel costs beyond hedges, impacting P&L. Consumer pushback on pricing, particularly on 9Lives leading to higher elasticities and retailer de-listings. Pet category slower than expected, especially dry dog food. Uncertainty from Middle East disruption affecting deal flow and seller expectations.

Financial Model
Projections are built from each company's audited annual financials (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) over the last 5 fiscal years. Forward assumptions — revenue growth %, EBITDA margin, D&A (USD millions), interest expense, tax rate, and capex — are AI-generated using historical context and refreshed twice a year: after the December results season and after the September/Q4 results season.

DCF Valuation
Fair Value = Σ(FCFt / (1+WACC)t) + Terminal Value. Terminal Value uses the Gordon Growth Model: FCF5 × (1+g) / (WACC−g). Default WACC: 10% (US risk-free ~4.5%, equity risk premium ~5.5%). Default terminal growth: 3% (long-run US nominal GDP proxy).

CAGR Tracker
Expected 5-year CAGR = (DCF Fair Value / Current Price)1/5 − 1. Assumes fair value is reached in exactly 5 years — a mechanical estimate only.
